Our client, an international Operator, is currently seeking a Subsea Pre-Commissioning Engineer, to work in their EPCI sub-contractors office in Sutton.

* * * Please note this position is available on a PAYE basis only and candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available * * *

Duties would include:
  • Assist with the engineering associated with the pipeline pre-commissioning activities under direction from the subsea commissioning lead, construction manager and installation lead engineer ensuring required work is completed within the allocated schedule and budget and executed in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Review and familiarization of EPCI required scope of work, drawings, project specifications and standards related to pre-commissioning work scopes.
  • Review and endorse specific project pre-commissioning method statement including overall philosophy, MDR (list of procedure and as-built documentation deliverables) Assure pre-commissioning personnel and equipment list requirement including consumables and spares, proposed by EPCI pipeline pre-commissioning sub-contractor.
  • Assure Material Requisition (MR)/Service Requisition (SR) documents, for the pre-commissioning subcontract of flowlines and pipelines and any required specifications for pre-commissioning equipment such as pig launcher/receiver, pigs, flanges, hot stab connectors etc, as put forward by EPCI.
  • Follow-up with EPCI and pre-commissioning subcontractor (on a daily basis), review/approval of pre-commissioning subcontractor project specific procedures, equipment spread, and ensure compliance with the required scope of work and specifications. Ensure that pre-commissioning procedures are available in due time.
  • Provide Input/Review for specific equipment design and subsea structures FAT procedure
  • Coordinate internal and external technical interfaces with project team, pre-commissioning subcontractors, vessel/platform personnel, client and third-party contractor and report on status of work, potential delays, problems, etc.
  • Attend/Participate in project risk analysis review, constructability review, HAZID/HIRA sessions, operation readiness review and safety workshops, regarding pre-commissioning activities as required
  • Review pre-com equipment deck layout & utilities requirement. Attend and witness Site Integration Tests (SITs), Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
  • Attend subcontractor equipment review prior to mobilization (function test, check equipment certification and calibration package)
  • Support Project Offshore Installation activities as required. Ensure that all work is performed consistently in accordance with project procedures and to the highest technical standards.
  • Review and endorse as appropriate technical justification for Technical Queries (TQ) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and ensure the TQs and NCRs are addressed / closed out.


Essential requirements:

Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering Discipline or Equivalent.

A minimum of two years' industry experience in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably as Company technical rep on installation vessel. Offshore construction and installation experience on shallow water/deepwater projects.

Previous experience in a similar role with an Operator on a major international project is strongly preferred.
