UK Head of Cyber Security - Permanent - Location Flexible
This is a hands on role, with 2 direct reports, will consider a candidate thats got a solid Cyber Security background with less management experience.
The UK Head of Cyber Security will be responsible for overseeing a range of technical & process security controls & leading a programme of continuous improvement in response to changing security threats & risk. The role requires a thorough understanding of the technologies that underpin my client's systems & a broad, up-to-date knowledge of information security frameworks, pertinent regulation & legislation, vulnerability management, incident management & response, secure development techniques & approaches, Cyber Security engineering & operations & management & governance of Cyber risk & Cyber Security.
UK Head of Cyber Security Key Responsibilities
Define, develop & maintain a business-aligned Information & Cyber Security strategy & operating model
Define & embed an Information Security Policy Framework across the UK, in line with relevant legislation & industry standards
Provide advice & direction to the IT & Leadership Team in the integration of security practices into their strategic & operational processes
Establish & maintain clear & measurable Information & Cyber Security strategic plans, budgets & targets as well as robust & fit-for-purpose operational procedure service improvements & ensure that all elements of the service represent the best value for money
Work closely with internal stakeholders & business units to keep abreast of planned changes to technologies, working practices & business activities that could have an impact on my client's Security or risk profile
Implement active monitoring for cyber threats & attacks & take pro-active & re-active action to any cyber incident (eg new vulnerability identified that requires urgent patching)
UK Head of Cyber Security Key Accountabilities
Ensuring the culture, policies, structures & reporting systems are in place to allow the Information Security team to achieve the highest standards of quality, legal & regulatory compliance & corporate governance in all areas
Ensure Information Security is managed effectively throughout the IT service delivery life cycle, including IT Operations; Security Architecture & Security Assurance
Lead the delivery of the Information Security & Risk elements in the IT Strategy
Ensuring continuous improvement across the function to meet existing business SLA's & compliance regulations
Define & implement an appropriate information assurance framework, enforcing compliance with policies in conjunction with internal audit & legal
Direct investigations into information security breaches & pursue associated disciplinary & legal matters, liaising with the legal & internal audit teams on data protection legislation ensuring root case analysis of such breaches are understood & addressed
GDPR point of contact in IT
Maintain IT Risk register
Be on point for annual IT Audit & drive the improvement plans required
Pen test - book & manage the annual Pen tests & the process for resolution to defects
Manage the vulnerability scanning of public facing systems process
UK Head of Cyber Security Key skills or experience
At least 5 years experience in senior management in a complex IT organisation, encompassing Service delivery; application development & IT Infrastructure
At least 10 years experience of information security
A track record in the management & delivery of transformational security improvements across an organisation
Knowledge of ITIL & project management methodology
Strong leadership & negotiation skills with business & technical groups & a demonstrable ability to build consensus amongst many stakeholders
Experience with AWS &/or Azure platforms & cloud-based customer platforms such as Microsoft, Salesforce etc
Experience with the delivery of data analytic solutions
Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK
