We are looking to recruit a number of permanent positions within our North Cumbria Inpatient Services, offering an exciting and unique opportunity for those wishing to become Band 3 Nursing Assistants, contributing to the inpatient care pathway at Carleton Clinic Hospital Carlisle and Yewdale Ward at West Cumbria Hospital Whitehaven. The posts offer an opportunity to work within an identified inpatient service or an opportunity to work as part of a newly formed flexi pool.

The flexi pool positions are an opportunity to work across a range of services supporting cover on both day and night shifts. They will be allocated on a short-term basis to support safer staffing and patient care and will provide opportunity to build skills in a variety of areas.

On Carleton Clinic site there are five inpatient services. Edenwood is a six bedded assessment and treatment unit for people with a learning disability and or autism, challenging behaviour and metal health issues. Ruskin is a fifteen bedded mixed sex assessment unit for older adults suffering from an organic mental illness such as dementia. Oakwood is an eleven bedded mixed sex older adult functioning assessment unit for those with age related needs and enduring mental health not of an organic nature. Rowanwood is a ten-bed mixed sex psychiatric intensive care unit offering those with acute distress who require a higher level of relational input. Hadrian is a twenty-two bedded mixed sex acute admission service providing assessment, care and treatment, working with individuals to promote staying well and relapse prevention.

Yewdale is based in Whitehaven and is a sixteen bedded mixed sex acute admission service providing assessment, care and treatment, working with individuals to promote staying well and relapse prevention.

We require confident applicants with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You must have a strong commitment to the delivery of high quality, safe, patient care and be a good role model in reflecting the Trusts Core Values. You will be provided with training opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills.

There will be a robust supervision structure in place and opportunities for skill/personal development.

The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service user which may include working extended hours over 7 days a week.
