Senior Developer
We’re looking for an experienced, thoughtful, and versatile engineer to join our food movement.
We’re looking for a versatile and experienced senior engineer to join our three-person engineering team. Josephine is a small team, so you’ll get to work directly with our head of product, support team, and other stakeholders to design, spec, and implement new features from start to end, as well as have a key say in technical direction and decision making.
At Josephine, we’re creating a platform for home cooks who want to market and sell their meals online. From ordering and payment, to marketing and customer relations, our tools simplify the process of running a food business.
We're ideally looking for a full-time employee to join Josephine, but we are also open to bringing on a contractor who is willing to commit at least 30 hours per week on a long-term basis. We're a remote-friendly company, so no worries if you don't live in the Bay Area, though Pacific or Mountain time zones are strongly preferred.
About You
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript
- Experience with at least one Rails app in a production environment
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to provide constructive code reviews and lead architectural decision-making
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to implement and iterate on new features
- 4+ years relevant experience
Bonus Points
- Experience with virtual DOM based JS frameworks (React, Vue, Mithril, etc)
- An eye for design and UX
- Experience managing app infrastructure (AWS, Heroku)
- Experience leading an engineering team
