We hope that you share our passion for making sure that we understand our users - your readers - and ensure that every written word resonates with your audience. You never say too much, or too little. You say just the right amount to be a valuable resource.
You understand the importance of search engines and all of their crazy nuances. But, how you navigate your way to the top of every search happens naturally along the way, never stuffing, just adding wisely here and there. You write clearly with structure and specificity so that crawlers and your readers both love what they see.
And since every good story deserves to be illustrated, our writer wields Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, and the like, almost as easily as they find “a panda who walks into a bar and eats, shoots, and leaves”. ;-)
You never become complacent. You realize that there is always room for improvement, and you understand precisely how to publish and investigate your results with Hubspot and Google Analytics. You recognize the power of the metrics, the funnels, dwell times, bounce rates and conversions and you use these numbers to continually hone your craft by relentlessly researching, analyzing and improving as you go. By writing, measuring and learning, you impress others with your "lean" style of storytelling.
If the above description sounds like you, and if you love the idea of joining a virtual company and being able to live anywhere in the world, as long as you talk to us between 9 and 5 Eastern Standard Time, then we might be the place for you. Yes, we work virtually, we use Scrum to organize teams, we work Kanban style, and we use Lean to continuously build, measure and learn. How? We live in G-Suite, move cards with Trello, talk all day long with each other in HipChat, and when it gets complicated we move from Google Hangout to Hangout to get things done fast.
Assuming you are still with me ... You are a writer because you love to to create with the written-word, not just because it seemed like a good career move. You are passionate about what you do, the stories that you tell and exploring what’s possible with like-minded people. You have a check mark next to all of the skills referenced above, and you know exactly what needs to be done because you’ve been doing this for a few years. Speaking of payment... We are paying an annual base salary of $43,000 to $60,000 depending upon your experience, and you will also participate in the company profit sharing plan and benefits.
