What You Will Do
- Work with the executive and product team to assess feasibility of feature designs
- Work with the team to break down complex features into manageable work
- Ensure development deliverables are performant, scalable, resilient, and have appropriate instrumentation and monitoring
- Leverage your experience and expertise to guide team members through technical challenges and obstacles
- Lead one of our scrum teams. This team focuses primarily on the application and APIs, and not the backend engine.
- Code, perform code reviews, and ensure the team produces quality work.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
- Perform code reviews to ensure quality expectations are met
- Work in fast-paced environment to keep up with customer demands
- Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
- Stay up-to-date on technologies, frameworks, and development trends
Required Skills
- You are an excellent communicator - able to understand and explain complex ideas clearly, orally or in writing.
- You are a self-starter capable of identifying problems or areas of opportunity, and implementing solutions.
- You must be able to motivate a team, inspiring folks to do their best work.
- You have mastery of computer science basics.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in leading robust engineering teams and directing their work
- Expert at developing in Node.js, React.js, and web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
- Expert at building highly interactive UI and large-scale SaaS products
- Expert understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks
- Expert understanding of object-oriented design and web technologies in general
- Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as GIT
- Good understanding of asynchronous request handling and partial page updates
- Experience identifying and remediating vulnerabilities
- Experience utilizing docker and kubernetes to run applications
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with deployment workflows and tools
