Global Service Engineer – Technology Provider – Chemical Sector – Belgium/Netherlands – Rewarding salary/package
My client is an innovative technology provider who are at the forefront of driving forward circular economy in the chemicals sector. They have award winning, niche technology that is revolutionising the way the world thinks about waste carbon. Their unique process provides a sustainable pathway to produce platform chemicals that serve as building blocks to products that have become indispensable in our lives such as rubber, plastics, synthetic fibres and fuels.
They are working exclusively with NES Fircroft for a Global Services Engineer, this is a huge opportunity to join the company during a period of tremendous growth where this function will play a pivotal part in the commercialisation of new plants starting off with their one in Belgium. There are huge succession prospects through various avenues for the right person. It is essential this person has strong engineering fundamentals to put processes in place, with strong process engineering experience and familiarity with piping to guide the commercialisation of their technology onto new plants. The position includes responsibility for all phases of process design for commercial projects supporting their customers across various industries. It also includes working in the field with diverse environments and being part of a leading start-up team. This role will also provide mentoring to all engineering disciplines assigned to projects.
As part of this role, work will also include working on mobile gas fermentation operations globally, including serving as analytics operator to perform demonstration-scale gas fermentations at in industrial sites of potential future customers. Engagements will involve visiting industrial locations such as steel mills, chemical plants or syngas facilities.
This role will involve 50% travel visiting clients and to future plants when they reach commercialisation. The role requires a high degree of flexibility working independently in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.

Essential Requirements:
- Degree qualified all equivalent experience in chemical or mechanical engineering
- Field service experience punch listing, closing out equipment and basic design engineering, with the ability to change pumps and vessels
- Experience working in hazardous environments
- Ability to gather data, set priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience developing basic and detailed design engineering packages
- Working knowledge of process instrumentation, control valves and control loops
- Experience with process simulation and specification of equipment such as reactors, tanks, heat exchangers pumps and vessels
- Experience of plant operations and commissioning experience in gas processing, bio-processing or refining
- Ability and willingness to work with hazardous gases and chemicals with high process safety awareness
- Fluent in Dutch
- European residency
- Strong ethics and values
- Self motivated with the ability to use own initiative to work independently and also in a team environment
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
