Continuous Improvement Manager – Northamptonshire – Rewarding salary and packageMy client a global specialty chemicals company are currently going through a huge transformation journey. To support this transformation and future growth they have a newly created role of Continuous Improvement Manager for their site in Northamptonshire.The Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for establishing and implementing a full continuous improvement system on site supporting the various disciplines to identify lean improvements in manufacturing and operational processes to improve efficiencies, reduce cost and increase customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on role that requires a lean practitioner, ideally black belt or equivalent qualified who has strong experience of physically implementing a CI programme, with exceptional influencing skills.Main responsibilities:Establish, maintain and develop CI system and initiatives across the UK siteLead the CI team and broader activities in support of the overall Operational Excellence Programme.Support operational activities to improve daily manufacturing levels and productivity.Develop robust site and area specific KPIs in line with group and site requirementsIdentify and facilitate process improvement projectsHold workshops and training to drive cultural changeConduct and support root cause analysis to troubleshoot manufacturing, business and production issues, material flow, project plans, production capacity, facility and design and create process documentationCarry out advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping, developing budgets and cost analysis to determine project feasibilityDevelop and carry out compliance audits, programme evaluations and reviews to drive resultsRequired experience:Proven experience implementing a CI programme in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of working within defined environmental and health safety proceduresStrong knowledge of lean tools – DMAIC cycle process and value stream mapping, SMED, 5S and six sigmaExperience of using performance metrics to dive improvementsBlack belt qualified or equivalentExceptional ability to influence, engage and challenge behaviourCredible stakeholder management and leadership skillsAbility to prioritise and organise demanding workloadAnalytically minded and solution orientated with a keen eye for attention to detailWith over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining, Automotive and Chemicals sectors worldwide.With more than 100 offices in 45 countries, we are able to provide our clients with the engineering and technical expertise they need, wherever and whenever it is needed.
