To provide continuous laboratory analytical support, carrying out all duties in a safe, environmentally friendly and appropriate manner in accordance with all policies, procedures, guide lines and work instructions. Key Responsibilities a. Collect, analyse and report samples from all areas of Teesside Operations as detailed in the sampling/analysis schedule b. As a qualified First Aider provide medical assistance as part of the site emergency team c. Perform testing of water, crude oil, NGL and gas samples as detailed in the sampling/analysis schedule DP.TL.SAMP.09 d. Ensure analysis is carried out in an accurate and timely manner e. Report results using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) f. Manage routine schedule to support changing workload priorities g. Assist in the annual sample point audit reporting findings to the Laboratory Shift Lead h. Maintain clear and effective communication channels and work within priorities set by the Laboratory Shift Lead i. Adhere to recognised work practices and procedures including implementation of improvements to practices and procedures j. Progress various weekly / monthly checklists k. Complete daily log sheets and shift handover logs Competency Requirements a. Chemistry degree with significant analytical chemistry content – Desirable b. Extensive experience in a laboratory role within the oil & gas industry, Petro-Chemical or other regulated industry – Essential c. Experience of the operation of an analytical laboratory – Essential d. Knowledge of laboratory quality management systems – Essential e. Strong understanding of oil & gas storage and processes – Desirable f. Hold a Full UK driving licence and to drive company vehicles where appropriate – Essential g. Demonstrate effective interpersonal, leadership skills and supervisory competence – Desirable h. Ability to use Microsoft packages and SAP – Essential i.
