Position Overview Our client is accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Technician, Instruments located in Aberdeen. The Maintenance Technician, Instruments will join the Team, providing operations support. The role is based in the Aberdeen office from where operations visits to the normally unattended Platform are made. Responsibilities Develops suggestions to improve plant, equipment and processes to ensure maximum efficiency within a safe environment. Responsible for ensuring the integrity of explosion protected equipment throughout the platform. Demonstrates commitment to continuous quality improvement through the development of applicable metrics. Safe and efficient operation of a wide range of discrete packages and equipment, including high frequency PMR work, light mechanical repairs, documentation reporting and log keeping duties. The range of equipment includes, but is not limited to the following: - Simple and complex control loops interfacing with the ABB Control system. - Emergency Shutdown System and associated inputs and outputs - Pneumatic / Hydraulic Wellhead Control Panel Telecomms and Fire and Gas Systems: - Maintains accurate and comprehensive records, including event logs, maintenance records, override logs, chemical records and lube oil inventory. - Diagnostic and remedial work/operations in the event of plant upsets using relevant P&IDs, vendor manuals and other data to assist with corrective action. - Ensure any modifications, however minor, are dealt with using the Management of Change (MOC) process. Cross training and assisting Operations in equipment/plant/system start up, maintenance, monitoring and shutdown/start up. Actively participates in constituency safety meetings, group meetings, risk assessments and toolbox talks. Carries out emergency duties as requires on a normally unattended installation, including emergency control and command as well as control room operator emergency control duties. Complies with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental requirements such as statutory requirements, Client safety case and environmental procedures manual. Qualifications A recognised qualification e.g., S/NVQ 3 Instrument and Controls and a background in industrial processes and equipment, coupled with demonstrated experience of working with normally unattended installations. Conversant with instrument-based control systems such as ABB or Honeywell etc. Must have the ability to compile technical reports with associated drawings, pertaining to operations. Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. Conversant in SAP or similar maintenance management systems. Demonstrate a proactive, flexible and positive working attitude and ability to prioritise and manage workload. Shares knowledge freely with others to ensure best practices. Self starter with the ability take ownership to drive and complete work at the highest standard. Enthusiastic and willing to advance in the position (Inst Tech WAMM, OPITO Open Learning Modules in Process Oil and Gas). Continual personal development of alternative skills and qualifications is expected. Demonstrate good leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a close, multi-discipline environment.
