Role Objectives:-
The Mechanical Supervisor reports to the Head of Maintenance and Reliability.
Meet site safety standards.
Meet regulatory and customer quality requirements relating to ISO9001, ISO14001 and cGMP as well as the requirements of cross contamination prevention.
Deliver mechanical maintenance activities, ultimately ensuring manufacturing performance
Responsibilities:-
Ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental standards are maintained throughout the delivery of work
Day to day management of the mechanical maintenance team, including but not limited to:
Work with the Maintenance Planner to develop job packs and maintenance schedule
Interface with mechanical contractors
First line problem solving for arising mechanical faults or work delivery problems
Contribute to continuous improvement activities
Key Figures:-
LTAs/accident rate/sickness rate within the mechanical group.
Maintenance KPI's such as schedule achievement, right first time, mean time to repair/maintain
Core Skills/Competencies:-
Time served mechanical craftsman with around ten years' experience post apprenticeship
Managerial skills – conflict management, prioritisation, real-time awareness of job progress, short-to-medium term planning to deliver objectives

- Assigning work packages
- Progress chasing
- Managing priorities and arising maintenance requirements from operational areas
- Ensuring work is closed out within the maintenance management system
- Timekeeping, holidays, disciplinary matters
Work with the Maintenance Planner to develop job packs and maintenance schedule
Interface with mechanical contractors
First line problem solving for arising mechanical faults or work delivery problems
Contribute to continuous improvement activities
