Our Operator Client is looking for an Economics Finance Lead for a 12 month assignment.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides high quality economic modelling and robust decision analysis support to the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, maintain and improve economic models (including Palantir suite) to provide the Company with the capability for sophisticated investment analysis and robust decision-making.
- Carry out both the fiscal modelling and sensitivity analysis of investment decisions related to the current portfolio and M&A opportunities.
- Actively engages with the business (Commercial, Subsurface, Project teams) on economic and commercial aspects of the planning process and new business including framing of decisions, evaluation, peer reviews, investment memorandums and post-investment appraisal.
- Presents investment analysis to senior management.
- Monitors and reports on business trends and macro-economic factors affecting the oil and gas business in the UKCS.
- Builds and maintains a portfolio model and makes recommendations relating to portfolio optimisation.
- Makes recommendations in relation to technical developments in modelling tools and systems.
- Manages and coordinates the activities of the Economic Analyst reporting into the Economics Finance Lead.
- Participates in industry forums, attends conferences/seminars and networking events to ensure Client maintains appropriate representation within the industry.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Essential
- Experience in an economics/accounting role with a UK operator, with significant exposure to planning and investment analysis.
- Highly developed Excel modelling skills with knowledge and experience of main commercial packages e.g. GEM, PEEP, and Palantir etc.
- Knowledge and experience of the fiscal regime affecting UKCS operations including PRT.
- Demonstrable knowledge of standard investment analysis techniques.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate complex topics in both numerical and written formats in a clear and concise way.
- High level of professional and personal credibility - internally and externally.
- Knowledge of standard suite of commercial agreements associated with operating oil and gas properties.
- Experience of probabilistic modelling techniques for decision analysis and de-risking investments.
- Experience of portfolio modelling for business planning and management purposes.
- Experience of investment appraisal for project finance and capital fund raising.
- Ability to influence at all levels across the business
- High level of commercial knowledge and numerical ability
- Proven ability to plan and manage own workload to deliver results under pressure and within tight deadlines
- Ability to work effectively in multi-functional teams
- Ability to exercise sound judgement in the decision-making process
- Ability to be pragmatic and proactive
- Evidence of creative thinking with ability to introduce new concepts and ideas
