The Environmental Advisor reports into the Environment Team Lead and will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and the identification of opportunities for adopting best practises.

Responsibilities

  • Provides interpretation and guidance on related environmental legislation.
  • Develops and manages asset environmental programmes including BEIS and SEPA inspections.
  • Focal point for environmental support to the assets on production, wells, competition and intervention including environmental permit management.
  • Supports oily discharges permitting, returns, reporting, advice and procedural updates.
  • Supports Chemicals permit support, substitution plans, returns reporting and advice.
  • Environmental reporting, EEMS system focal point.
  • Supports the incident investigation and reporting process to ensure the quality of both the investigation and the report.
  • Environmental Reports, Quarterly ES Report, Offshore Performance Report (asset focal point).
  • Ensure compliance assurance on applicable legislative and process requirements identifying areas of strengthening or improvement.
  • Onshore support for radiological issues.
  • Environmental focal point for offshore Combustion Plant installation (PPC) permitting, compliance assurance, stack monitoring and returns.
  • Environmental focal point for ozone Depleting Substances/F-Gas permitting and compliance.
  • Conducts environmental audits and inspections on the assets providing environmental advice and support to ensure ongoing compliance with regulation.
  • Facilitates environmental training programmes and initiatives.
  • Support the delivery of the asset audit, assurance & HES plan. Conduct or facilitate audits and compliance monitoring and support the development effective implementation of smart actions.
  • Part of oil spill incident response team.
  • Represents Company at external technical groups.


Qualifications

  • Degree in related science or engineering subject(s) and experience within the field is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with proven ability to build networks and influence a broad range of professionals.
