Offering A Gift.
There are many definitions for gift. I will list some definitions I know:
Gift is something given willingly to someone without payment; a present.
Some people will say the act of giving something as a present.
Also, a very easy task or unmissable opportunity; Have you ever been threatened
to be given a very tedious task, maybe you and your friends and when the time
comes you receive the simplest of all tasks? We often say it was a gift.
Finally a natural ability or talent. Yes, I think some people have the
ability to do some special things or activities. For example some people are
good in singing, playing, research, communication, reading etc.
Why do we give out gifts?
Gifts have
a lot of meanings most times but it is always neglected. I think some people do
acknowledge the symbolic gesture of offering something to someone. A gift can
raise so many feelings; both positive and negative.
When do we give out gifts?
There are
so many periods and occasions or reasons why we hand out gifts. People have in
mind that there must be special events before they can hand out gift. Yes it is
true gifts are good and encouraging especially when handed out during
occasions. Sometimes handing gifts without any special event is more touching
Some
special events where gifts are handed out are;
Birthdays,
Honors,
Valentine’s
Day,
Weddings. Etc.
Not
forgetting, gift are also given to enemies. The only difference is such gifts
always have negative impacts.
