JOB PURPOSE • Develop and deliver KG engineering strategy to meet the business SHE, availability, reliability, cost and people targets. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES • Develop, deliver and sustain an Engineering strategy and capability for the KG Assets to comply with the law, national and Ineos standards and KG business goals for integrity, reliability, timing and value. • Lead and manage the Engineering Team, ensuring the individuals are developed and empowered to make decisions in order to deliver performance that is in line with KG plans and objectives. • Review and ensure all the appropriate Asset Care Policies and Asset Life Plans are in place and being applied across the equipment and systems to meet business targets • Deliver the reliability and availability targets - specifically targeting bad actors and high cost issues and influence compliance for Preventative Maintenance programs. • Develop the capability, organizational structure and performance of the KG Engineering team to meet business targets for HSE, availability and fixed costs • Network with; and influence Engineering Managers, TA's and Integrity Leaders across the site to promote and develop O&P best practices and improve overall processes and efficiency • Specify and develop budgets for the areas of department responsibility and manage the spend against the budgets in line with KG requirements. • Develop and manage the interfaces with other companies, external 3rd parties to deliver the safe operation and engineering integrity of the KG asset. • Identify improvement initiatives, develop and contribute to the delivery of an Improvement Plan for KG to meet short and long-term business goals for engineering integrity, reliability and cost effectiveness. • Advocate good practice; provide training and coaching for Team Leaders, Engineers, and Specialists to achieve the instrument control, electrical and mechanical engineering competence/capability necessary to deliver legal compliance and asset targets. • Provide input to asset and capital projects development and turnarounds work scope definition to meet with KG business demand and goals for integrity, reliability, timing and value. • Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators to define compliance against critical safety equipment to meet KG requirements for safety, service level, quality, cost and timing. QUALIFICATIONS • Professional Engineer, degree qualified and chartered • Significant engineering experience, predominantly in a manufacturing/technical environment. • Track record for successful delivery of major events such as Projects, TARs, major unit upsets. • Business awareness and commercial understanding TECHNICAL SKILLS • Responsible for writing and updating engineering standards for assets associated with the Grangemouth site. • Engineering approver for KG Plant Modifications. • A detailed understanding of the core maintenance processes and technical engineering disciplines. • Recognised as Engineering expert within the Business and Grangemouth Site with track record in solving complex engineering issues • Detailed understanding of the budget process including budget preparation, securing of funding and cost control • Logical and practical with the ability to think laterally with advanced troubleshooting skills.
