Our client a major Chemical Manufacturing group are looking for a Quantity Surveyor / Cost Engineer to join their team working from their facility based at Saltend Chemicals Park in Hull.
The role will be a contract role, open to Ltd Company / PAYE and will require any candidates to have existing right work in the UK.
Duties
The TAR QS role is a multi-disciplined role including the following:-
Procurement
Agree Contract strategy with Procurement Team and TAR Team.
Liaise between teams including Engineering and Inspection to ensure scopes are prepared and go out to tender.
When required coordinate
Create tender documentation when required.
Review tender submissions
Support procurement with tender negotiations
Collate contract documents.
Update the services procurement tracker and ensure that Engineering and Procurement update the tracker as required.
Provide monthly report for the TAR Steering team on procurement progress for both services and materials highlighting overdue and items that need to be placed soon.
Liaise with the TAR Material Coordinator to ensure that all expediting is taking place and ensure any issues are reported. If no material coordinator carry out expediting if required and ensure the materials procurement tracker is updated.Cost Reporting
Report latest costs and variations to the TAR Cost Engineer for contracts falling under TAR QS responsibility.
Review forecast to ensure all Contract costs have be collated.
Support monthly cost reporting activity and in TAR event daily /weekly reporting
Obtain and report on other key data such as man-hours per supplierContract Administration
Long term contracts, agree monthly valuations for work carried out, creating a payment certificate to confirm agreement for monthly costs.
Reviewing timesheets against planned and agreement proposals.
Agreeing variations to scope of works.
Agreeing delays and any cost implications
Negotiate final accountsSAP Support
Create Purchase Requisitions within SAP.
Ensure POs have been created by the Purchasing Team
Creating Maintenanace/ Work Order numbers.
Run SAP reports and have familiarity with SAP transactions and reporting.DOA Process (company Spend Approvals)
Company internal process, ensuring that before an order is placed a Delegation of Authority (DOA) is approved by the authorised person depending on the value.
Tracking DOAs to ensure that deadlines are met and expediting DOAs if approval has not been received.
If a DOA has been rejected/ challenged provide update to submitting person and provide further information as required.
