Purpose
This job description details responsibilities for the Mechanical Engineer reporting to the Senior Process Engineer.

Primary purpose of role:

• Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team provide day to day mechanical maintenance & legislative compliance support for assigned contracts. Including mods & reliability improvements on agreed assets (pilot scale through to lab scale equipment), through to mods/development of services & strategic infrastructure.
• Lead, engage and manage assigned reports development, performance, welfare & delivery, being clear about outcomes, identifying ownership opportunities & giving clear direction & feedback to maximise performance.

Major duties

• Provide day to day mechanical engineering support for the assets, systems and procedures operated by assigned contracts or utilised in their services and infrastructure provision.
• Lead, engage and manage assigned reports development, performance, welfare & delivery, being clear about outcomes, identifying ownership opportunities & giving clear direction & feedback to maximise performance.
• Ensure the timely and effective maintenance and inspection of the equipment and associated infrastructure operated by or on behalf of assigned contracts.
• Provide technical support to resolve operational issues within the areas identified. Monitor the reliability of assigned equipment. Troubleshoot problems and proactively seek ways to improve performance.
• Support the modification of assigned assets and associated infrastructure to deliver future work programs.
• Own & maintain mechanical documentation/equipment registers for agreed assets & supporting infrastructure.
• Provide mechanical engineering resource for capital projects. Support the commissioning and initial operation of any new equipment once installed.
• Provide engineering assurance in the mechanical engineering discipline area, ensuring compliance with engineering standards through regular audit.
• Provide discipline engineer approval for the mechanical aspects of all associated Management of Change.
• Take responsibility for the control and updating of maintenance procedures applicable to assigned contracts.
• Positively & professionally portraying the role of Mechanical Engineer to all. Complete required training and development activities to maintain and develop competence.

Education:
Degree desirable, HNC or Equivalent as a minimum expectation
